As part of its agenda to disseminate research findings, the IDF Foundation presented its research findings on October 21, 2024, about cigarette consumer behavior in Indonesia. The research used the Discrete Choice Experiment (DCE) method, involving 600 respondents across the country. The results were expected to offer insights for developing a Harm Reduction Strategy to help shape tobacco control policies in Indonesia.

The event, an international research forum held in Nusa Dua, Bali, featured presentations from both local and international researchers. Experts from Cornell University, San Diego State University, TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Turkey, Synergeia Foundation (Philippines), Pepperdine University, Deakin University (Australia), Malaysian Customs, Padjadjaran University, Sahid University Jakarta, and Maranatha University Bandung shared their findings on Harm Reduction strategies.

Participants included representatives from Bappeda, regional research agencies, the media, health services, and several universities in Bali, such as Udayana University, Warmadewa University, Ganesha Education University, and the Indonesian Hindu University.

The main goal of the Research Forum was to present the findings of the IDF Foundation and other research groups on Harm Reduction strategies. It aimed to foster discussions among economic researchers on alternative approaches to tobacco control and reducing health risks, while considering consumer behavior. The forum also provided valuable input for shaping tobacco control policies.
