IDF takes an active role in supporting programs to enhance marginalised schools' skills, including introducing the potential for developing and utilizing school land through urban farming cultivation technology.
This initiative, designed to optimize limited land resources, was initiated as a pilot project at Adventist Elementary School 6 Jatinegara, Jakarta.
The program involves participatory activities, encompassing the developing of urban farming technology equipment and hands-on experience in managing and utilizing school land for planting and cultivation. Beyond students, teachers, particularly those teaching biology and skills subjects, actively participate in these activities.
The objective extends beyond the school's confines, aspiring to replicate this initiative across other educational institutions. By fostering sustainable practices and indirectly strengthening food security, this endeavor holds promise for empowering marginalized schools and communities.
